Description
Physical security is essential in our healthcare facilities who are increasingly soft targets for behavioral health patients, disgruntled patients, gang retaliation, and active shooters. This session brings a highly experienced physical security professionial (PSP) to inform us of soft target threats and the challenges that heightened security environments bring to the clinical staff, facility managers, the executive leadership team, architects, and engineers and how they need to recognize and deal with these security challenges. As design professionals we are out of our design comfort zone when it comes to physical security. This session will show how to plan and design healthcare space that can deliver a secure environment of care while containing the possibility of deadly force.
