When a VA campus (known as a station) embarks upon planning initiatives to project its future growth or reduction course, leaders base their strategies on VA guidelines, yet they have to continue to plan for ongoing maintenance, minor construction programs, and collaboration with the VISN (Vertical Intergrated System Network) Unlike private healthcare systems who compete for covered lives in their network areas, VA stations, while independently operated, collaborate with the VISN that oversees all of the VA hospitals in that VISN. This AIA AAH Strategic Planning Forum will look at several VA stations and share ways various firms contributing to the health of these stations.
