Description
Research published from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’s (HHS) consultative planning for the new Office of Climate Change and Health Equity department and HSS sustainability team has prompted a 2024 initiative emphasizing sustainability efforts under a multitude of grants, direct payments, and financial assistance. More than 10 new sustainability organizations have been engaged, with individualized interests that all pertain to understanding the following measures: the use of or dependence on fossil fuels, the management or use of water and other natural resources, and pollution levels. Despite vested interest, it is critical to evaluate the significance of current structures and procedures and then the repercussions for all affected parties by proposed adjustments, to best understand long-term effects on the population’s health.
