Description

Immersive Design Events (IDEs) can be a catalyst for more user engagement and an added enhancement throughout the schematic design phase and are quickly becoming a standard process for design teams. Implementing IDEs has demonstrated cost and schedule savings, more efficient workflow, and an overall focus on collaboration to design right-sized, functional space that is better aligned with operating models. This panel discussion brings leadership from systems that have implemented IDEs, on large and small projects, to share how the IDEs helped engage user groups to advance design, the common elements that led to success, opportunities to continue to focus on innovation and efficiency moving forward.

Tracks:

Learning Objectives

• Explain how the IDE process can be applied to projects at different scales and the outcomes relative to the project size and type.
• Identify how to reduce timeline and schedule for programming and planning.
• Compare how the process enhances stakeholder buy-in on each project.
• Evaluate the use of both low- and high-fidelity technology methods of interaction with the users and ways that the planning process can influence decision making.
