Description

Intermountain Healthcare’s Utah Valley Hospital (UVH) recently underwent a major construction project to replace more than half of its campus’ buildings with an enhanced patient and family centered care model. In the summer of 2021, a mixed method evaluation was completed to assess the impact of design strategies on patient and staff experience. This presentation will discuss the differential effects of the design on service line environments and how on-stage/off-stage models function in both inpatient and outpatient care settings on the campus. The session will also include conversation with a UVH healthcare administrator regarding the effects of design choices at the hospital.
