Description

In collaboration with AdventHealth, HuntonBrady Architects and GE Healthcare Partners designed a 12,000-square-foot mission control with the bandwidth to monitor, collaborate, and connect patient care on nine campuses. The center is staffed 24/7 with a team of clinicians, EMS, and flight dispatchers, and features a network of 60 monitors capable of displaying real-time information to deliver at-a-glance situational awareness. Discover how the architectural environment supports the focused activities of this mission control. Presenters will share how the design approach creates opportunities to improve whole patient care and reduce provider fatigue, and how to better understand the complexities of balancing health system utilization across a multisite healthcare organization.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the complexities of balancing health system utilization across a multisite healthcare institution, and how this project has improved whole patient care, reduced provider fatigue, and supported the health system’s response to the COVID-19 epidemic.
• Identify the types of existing and new information technology investments that can be leveraged within the design of a scalable platform.
• Discover how the architectural environment supports the focused activities of the mission control team.
• Hear how artificial intelligence and predictive analytics provide design decision support to improve care delivery and drive down the cost of care.
