(Oct.12, 2018) – Integra Seating, a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality seating and tables for commercial environments, today announced that eight table product series and 12 seating product series comply with the Healthier Hospitals goal of Safer Chemicals Challenge. Additionally, the same 12 seating product series and eight table product series have received Clean Air Gold Certification.

The Integra items complying with Safer Chemicals Challenge and achieving Clean Air Gold Certification include, but are not limited to seating products from the Alpine Collection, the Coastal Collection, the Coffee House Collection, the Keoki/Pxyis Collection, and several table products as well. Integra has developed a document that details the status of each product regarding these standards.
The Healthier Hospitals goal of Safer Chemicals Challenge is a set of standards created to reduce the instances of harmful chemicals in healthcare products, furniture, and fabrics that have been linked serious ailments such as cancer, birth defects, asthma and more. The Safer Chemicals Challenge requires that products and fabrics must be free of flame-retardants, antimicrobials, polyvinyl chloride (PVCs), per-and-poly-fluorinated compounds (PFCs) and formaldehyde. Similarly, the Clean Air Gold Certification, administered by a third-party company called Intertek, tests furniture products to ensure conformity to ANSI/BIFMA e3-2014e, Sections: 7.6.1, 7.6.2, and 7.6.3. This test measures the emission of volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde that can be detrimental to the health of those in and around them and the environment as a whole.
