Description

A sequel to the 2014 Healthcare Design Expo & Conference presentation “Under the Planetree,” this presentation will showcase the New Stamford Hospital, which opened to its first patients in fall of 2016 after a decade-long Planetree journey. An empathetic approach and a collaboration between clinicians, administrators, architects, and community members helped the team reimagine the new hospital. This presentation will discuss the challenges encountered in realizing this hospital and how they were overcome. Gaining insight on management tools and Lean processes employed in operationalizing this large project, the audience will also preview initial financial metrics and patient and caregiver satisfaction data after the first year of occupancy.
