Description
An active retirement is an opportunity to stretch intellectually, socially, spiritually, and emotionally. For many baby boomers, this means living their values in zero-energy homes. Sustainable choices they’ve made throughout their lives are part of their identity and they do not want to retire in a senior living community that doesn’t share these values. This session will explore the design, construction, and post-occupancy experiences of the first two zero-energy senior living communities in the Pacific Northwest. Attendees will learn how to incorporate zero-energy design/build principles into future projects, increase depositor engagement, and build communities that will long outlast this and future generations.
